Vancouver Scotiabank Half-Marathon
& 5km Run Results
Team FX raised over $78,000!
We had a nice little push at the end of the Scotiabank Run Fundraising and Team Fragile X rose over $78,000! We had sponsors from all over the U.S. & Canada and from as far away as Australia and Grand Cayman! It looks as though Ian Shearer won the $2K top individual award, with the help of his teammates’ strategy, raising $50,035!!
The awards will be announced at the Scotiabank Theatre in downtown Vancouver on July 21st. Kirsten Madsen will be representing the Team. She’s also been invited to a fundraising forum by Scotiabank. Details will follow. The real winner here is the Fragile X Research Foundation of Canada, since our exposure was raised significantly during this event and Team Fragile X raised an astounding $78,000.

The Annual Spring Fundraising Party
for Fragile X Research
The Canadian Annual Spring Party for Fragile X Research is a unique fundraiser that started in 2009. Over $45,000 was raised that year and we’d like to top that amount every year!
We are asking everyone who held a party last year to make it an annual event and anyone who didn’t, to pick a date and host an event this year. Here's how it works: instead of collecting pledges for an activity such as an organized walk, participants host a party to raise money. Your guests are asked to bring a donation to the party.
All proceeds go to fund important Fragile X research projects across Canada.
This does not have to be a large or formal affair. In fact, we encourage you to keep it simple, since the idea is to raise funds – not spend your own. You can serve hors d’oeuvres, wine and cheese and/or organize a board game or movie night and make popcorn! Use your imagination to customize your party and make it your own. What’s really important is that we all get together to support research to find the cure for Fragile X.
You can download everything you need below, It’s that easy! Pick a date that works for you and send out your invitations. Then, phone three of your friends across Canada and ask them to commit to holding a party as well. Give them this website information and they’ll be all set. Everyone on our fundraising team is very excited about the annual spring party and we need you to be as well!
